Why Our Local Raw Honey is Special

An old truth revisited - pure local raw honey can help your health in many ways*. Here is why:

Full of Enzymes and More - 'Straight from the comb honey' is naturally packed with enzymes, and has trace minerals, amino acids, low pH, and more. Get the details in Honey & Health.

Undamaged - Honey, in its purest form, is never over heated. Other brands are super heated in order to move and process it, but Kern Honey still has enzymes and healing qualities packed in. The honey crystal is not destroyed or filtered. Truly raw honey usually crystallizes. There is nothing wrong with crystallized honey, and you can warm the jar thin it back to original consistency.

Unfiltered - Unpasteurized and unprocessed Kern Honey tastes great and has some tiny bits and pieces of pollen, comb, propolis, wax, and occasionally some bee parts. There are no additives, and no corn syrup is placed near the hives. Filtered and syrup infused honey will not crystallize as fast as unfiltered. You know you have the real thing when it crystallizes.

No Pesticides - The bees that make our local raw honey use blossoms from the plants in the immediate areas of their mobile hives placed in areas with no pesticides.

Organic Honey? - The FDA will not allow any honey to be labeled organic. Honey bees can fly anywhere to harvest nectar. They usually stay close to their mobile hive but there is no way to guarantee that one bee did not get non-organic nectar.

Raw honey is safe and natural. Try some today!

Available in 16 ounce glass jars, Kern Honey varies in color, taste, and texture depending on where the bees gather nectar. No additives or corn syrup is put near the hives or in the honey.

There just may be truth to the theory of oral tolerance which reasons that humans become accustomed to things they ingest. That's basically what an allergy shot is. So, if people eat local pollens - via trace pollen content honey - allergic reactions to pollen in the spring and summer could diminish. Start on a teaspoon a day two months before your allergies usually kick in.

We are proud to present the many and varying health benefits of raw Kern Honey to our local residents and anyone driving through Kern County.
